At 8:57 PM, Eastern Daylight Savings Time, the first firefly sighting of the year, off of my deck, was confirmed.
Speculation was rampant earlier today that tonight would definitely be the night for the real harbingers of Summer to arrive.
When questioned by reporters, the firefly who wished to remain nameless, stated that they would have been here earlier had it not been for traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike by the Vince Lombardi rest stop.
